FWA: My Schedule

Hey, if you’re going to Furry Weekend Atlanta this year, and you want to see me, you’re in luck! I’m a Guest of Honor so I’ll be in predictable spots even more than I normally am at conventions. Here is a list of the places I know for sure I will be, and short descriptions of the panels:

THURSDAY
8 pm: Opening Ceremonies (main stage) – Come help kick off the con!

FRIDAY
10 am: Dealer’s room opens, Green Fairy on sale! I will be signing with the special GREEN PEN for this weekend ONLY.
12 pm: Meet the Guests of Honor (Panels 3) – Come ask me and Rukis all those questions you’ve been storing up. Except–no, not THAT one.
3:30 pm: Reading from “Green Fairy” (Panels 3) – On the fence about whether to buy it? Or just want to hear me talk until my throat gives out? Either way, come to this panel!
10 pm: Adult Storytelling (Panels 3) – Rukis and I will talk about storytelling for grownups. With sex. In the stories, I mean, not at the panel. These are always great panels, so don’t miss it!

SATURDAY
12 pm: From Amateur to Pro (Panels 1) –  Want to take your writing to the next level? I will have tips for you and answer your questions.
4 pm: Ten Things You Can Improve In Your Writing (Panels 1) – Some are things you will have to work on, some are things you can do RIGHT NOW. What are they? You’ll have to come to the panel.

SUNDAY
12 pm: Novel Writing (Panels 2) – Novels are huge, but they don’t have to be terrifying. I’ll talk about my experience (Green Fairy will be my seventh novel over 100,000 words) and will, of course, answer your questions.
5 pm: Closing Ceremonies (main stage) – Alas! Come say good-bye to the Moulin Rouge and FWA, and find out what next year’s theme and guests will be!

  1. Hi Mr. Gold,

I am a fellow writer and long time fan of your work. I unfortunately will not be able to attend FWA this coming weekend, but I would still love to hear what you have to say. Is there any way you could send me a sparknotes version of the kind of things you’re going to be talking about at the panels? I understand you’re very busy, so if you don’t have time, thats fine. But if you do, I’d love to hear any tips you may have. I hope you have a great time this weekend.

The problem is that I don’t really have comprehensible notes for most of the panels. I usually bring a few bullet points and then make people ask questions, so all the panels are wildly diverse from one con to another even if they have the same topic. Your best bet is to come to any con where I’m doing panels and then ask a question. :)

  2. I’d love to, believe me. Unfortunately that’s not an option for me at the moment. But I appreciate the comment anyways. If there’s any way we could chat sometime for a little I’d love to pick your brain.
